I cannot get over how fast this summer is coming to end. It’s hard to believe that the season we all couldn’t wait for is almost over. As fall is approaching and new trends are beginning, I still want to show off just one last favorite summer outfit of mine. Right now I am a huge fan of T-shirt/shirt dresses. Not only are they super stylish and lightweight, but they are also super comfortable, which is how I like my clothes to be. In the resort 2016 fashion show, DKNY shows off a variety of ways to turn a simple shirt dress into the perfect outfit. I love this collection because they are classy pieces that really catch your attention. These looks definitely inspire me to come out of my comfort zone a little bit because they are not outfits you would typically see on a daily basis.
To create a similar look, I have on a black and white striped T-shirt dress purchased from Forever 21 paired with my favorite sandals from ALDO. I am the biggest lover of stripes like I have mentioned in previous posts. It is one of my favorite patterns because it is something that will always be in style no matter the year and it really stands out. I love this outfit because it is perfect for a day of shopping with friends or a girl’s night out. It is very casual but can be dressed up with the right accessories.
To pull my outfit together I decided to throw on a gold layered statement necklace, some Alex and Ani bangles and a Michael Kors cross-body bag. These are my go-to accessories! I truly believe that a statement necklace can completely transform any look. It is one of the first things you notice about an outfit and stands out more than anything. Now for the finishing touch, I am wearing my favorite color MAC lipstick and now my outfit is complete!
If there is one thing I have learned from staying up to date with the latest fashion trends, is you should always feel great in the outfit you choose to wear. Just because the runway is telling you one thing, doesn’t mean you can’t add some of your own personal style to an outfit. In the DKNY resort 2016 fashion show, the looks are very simple and although my T-shirt dress is simple, I decided to add my own touch by accessorizing. Get creative with your wardrobe and have fun!
