STYLE GURU STYLE: Spring Forward

Dolce&Gabbana are two of the most well-known and important names in Italian fashion. Sticking to their Sicilian roots, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana designs express femininity and tradition by using a bright color palette, an array of florals and a creative silhouette. Each season, Dolce&Gabbana return with a unique way to drape clothes on the female body to accentuate feminine beauty. While they just blew everyone away with their fall 2015 ready-to-wear show, which drew inspiration from motherly love, I’m focusing this week on their fabulous spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection.

As we spring forward into warmer weather, our wardrobe also brightens up and we show a bit more skin. Inspired by the feminine, voluptuous Italian woman, Dolce&Gabbana capture the spring fever in their 81-look runway show for spring 2015. Inspired by the floral palette and unique structures, I adapted my own spring-time look inspired by their show.

In their spring show, Dolce&Gabbana focused a lot on the details of their clothing. Sleeves were flared out, rose petals were embellished and jackets were intricately jeweled. I chose my romper based on a few different factors inspired by the show. The sleeves of my romper showed the slight flare and the floral prints stayed with the bright color palette associated with Dolce&Gabbana.

Long sleeve rompers are a perfect way to transition into spring. While it may not be totally warm enough to bare your legs, rompers are also great paired with tights or knee-high socks. If it’s still a bit cold, a leather jacket is a great way to layer up without going back to your winter puffer. This feminine piece is highlighted in several of Dolce&Gabbana’s looks to welcome spring fashion and show off the female body.

Reach to your Italian roots and spring forward with a romper and some floral print to start off the warmer season!
