STYLE GURU STYLE: Sporty Spice

One of my favorite shows to always see during fashion week is Moschino. Jeremy Scott’s looks are always edgy and daring. There was no exception with his fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. The looks were bright and colorful and left a significant impression. The show left me with the feeling of wanting to take more chances with my outfits.

With this look, I used the inspiration I had from the show to take something like a simple workout outfit and use color and cuts to give off an edgier look. Color is a main aspect of the Moschino show, and I could not stray from this. I channeled the colors with bright pattered leggings. Another significant aspect of each of the looks were the cuts of the garments. They had sharp edges and many of the looks contained crop tops. I mirrored this by wearing a cropped sweatshirt. This can also be more of a retro look from the 1980s, which I absolutely love. I personally got a 1980s vibe from the show, so it was exciting for me to be able to incorporate it into an outfit of my own.

The leggings are from lululemon, which is where the pop of color really adds to the outfit. The sweatshirt is from Dimepiece, which continues on the theme of the sporty look. The sneakers are from Nike, to give it an overall athletic feel.

I love being able to cross over workout clothing into a sporty, athletic look. It is essentially an effortless way to put together an outfit, while still being able to look chic and on-trend. I encourage you to try!
