STYLE GURU STYLE: Sneaking Off The Runway

As much as some of us would love to be able to strut around campus in sky high platforms and corseted dresses, it’s not really practical when you are racing out the door five minutes before your 8:00 a.m. psychology class starts, and hoping you’ll have time to get coffee that will help you make it through the day.

Taking inspiration from the rag & bone spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I was introduced to the classic idea of sneakers as not only for casual wear, but dressed up as well. As college students, we are constantly on the go and there’s nothing better than being comfortable in sneakers and wearing your favorite slip or T-shirt dress, and bomber or leather jacket. This collection is the perfect way to mesh being chic and stylish while still remaining comfortable.

I made this look my own by taking a long T-shirt dress with thigh-high slits and pairing it with hoop earrings, a concha belt, shorts and my high-top adidas. The runway look was more of a morning after style as seen in slip dresses, so I decided to make it a little more wearable. I added the most comfortable and casual yet trendy piece and a T-shirt dress, and accessorized with hoop earrings and a concha belt that adds an element of surprise to the look. Finally, the most important part of all are the high-tops, which give this look its final edgy yet still attainable vibe.

Get My Look: 1. T-shirt dress. 2. A pair of sneakers. 3. A belt. 4. Some earrings. 5. Shorts.
