My eye always catches anything scalloped. That must be why my wardrobe is filled with scallop hemmed pieces. A fashion show that I just can’t stop thinking about is the Dior spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. The show is filled with pieces that are both beautiful and unique. Scalloped hems were a huge part of the Dior spring show. Raf Simons said the focus was romantic futurism. Many of the looks included blazers. The color palette was bright white, black and a few other solid colors. So taking inspiration from Dior, I put together an outfit that is highly influenced by some of my favorite looks.
By mixing the classic, navy blazer with the white, high-waisted, scalloped shorts, I created an outfit that can be worn either to an interview or to a nice lunch. I love the way the shorts complement the blazer. It makes the look pretty and romantic. I wore some striped flats to go with the stripes in the rolled up blazer sleeves. To accessorize, I kept it simple. I layered two round necklaces, one short and one long. I didn’t want to go too overboard with the accessorizing so that the outfit would still have a classic touch.
Mixing very feminine pieces with a little bit masculine pieces can make an outfit look amazing. I love experimenting and mixing different styles. You can find some really cool combinations. Overall, I am so happy that I watched the Dior spring fashion show so that I got the inspiration to put together this elegant and flirty look.
