STYLE GURU STYLE: Ruby Wooed

If you haven’t checked out the Saint Laurent pre-fall 2016 collection yet, I advise you do so now. This article can wait. Back? Good, now we can talk. I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like in this collection. It was filled with metallics and neutrals, flowing hemlines and structured silhouettes.

Inspired by the elements that made up the Saint Laurent show, I chose to keep it monochromatic with leather accessories. For my main piece I wore a black wide-leg jumpsuit that fits loosely, similar to the ones found in the Saint Laurent collection. I accented with leather details from my jacket and studded boots. Though I didn’t have any metallic accessories I added another form of in-your-face-shine with a silver statement necklace decked out in gems. In turn, this necklace gave the same effect that the metallics would have.

To not distract from the outfit, I kept my makeup classic–fresh matte foundation paired with a nude eye shadow and a cat-eye, finished with a matte red lip (Ruby Woo is the only red matte lipstick that matters, I will forever stand by this statement). This is my ultimate go-to no-fail makeup look. Paired with an all-black ensemble, it gives this otherwise edgy look, a clean and feminine twist.

To recreate my outfit, start with a flowy base, either a wide-leg jumpsuit or midi dress. Add leather accents that complement each other. A strong and subtle statement piece like a leather jacket goes well with understated pointed leather boots that peep out from underneath the hem. Tie the outfit together by adding a gem encrusted silver necklace that peeks out from the leather jacket.

Get My Look: 1. A wide-leg jumpsuit. 2. A leather jacket. 3. Studded leather boots. 4. A statement necklace.
