Ode to the Taylor Swift song of the century, red lips this summer makes everything hotter. I took cues from Oscar de la Renta’s fall ready-to-wear collection and turned up the heat for this look.
I took inspiration from the hues and vibe of the collection to complete my street style look. It was very feminine, a little sexy and used all dark colors. Fall 2015 is going to be dark and continue the black and white trend which is nice because you can transition your summer staples into fall easily.
The collection used pops of red among the blacks and grays which I added in effect to my lip color to complete the look to avoid junky pieces dragging down the editorial feel.
I like to keep my looks pretty simple; I’m not big on jewels, or added accessories. For a main piece, I wore my grey shift dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA. This dress is so lightweight and versatile, perfect for going out on those summer nights in Cincinnati.
I paired my dress with my black ankle strap heels from Charlotte Russe, my new favorite silhouette. They’re sassy and chic, I really recommend these heels for a permanent staple in anyone’s wardrobe. They transition well and can work season to season.
For the girl who packs everything in her purse, I added my kate spade satchel for some drama and cohesion with the black heels. This bag keeps my notebooks in order and also my wallet, sunglasses, lipstick and everything else I hoard around.
