STYLE GURU STYLE: Playful Neutrals

I’ll be the first one to admit that I wear a lot of neutral colors, especially black and white. There is something so intriguing to me about a wardrobe filled with neutral colors of all different shades. But lately, I’ve found myself drawn to playful neutrals like light pinks, dainty blues and playful shades of all degree. This switch in my personal style aesthetic is all because of this look from Bottega Veneta’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. I am a huge fan of the way this collection flows from relaxed activewear inspired looks to more polished luxury ensembles.

For my look, I have on my go-to American Apparel Easy Jeans. This trusted pair of denim is always a must for me on a busy day. Easy Jeans are comfy and stylish; you can’t go wrong. Giving my jeans a new look, I decided to roll them up to give the jeans a cropped vibe. To add a playful color to this mix of neutrals, I have on this cropped pastel pink sweater. It is just light enough to play into the neutral palette, while giving a little personality to the look. I’ve been loving cropped sweaters paired with high-waisted pants lately, so I’m not surprised that I’m loving this ensemble. Giving this outfit another layer, I have on a wool biker jacket in a beautiful camel color.

Inspired by the look from Bottega Veneta’s collection, I kept my accessories to a minimum. I have on my new frames, which I have been absolutely loving and never seem to take off! For shoes, I have on this amazing pair of slip-on sneakers from Target. I am totally digging the cutout design of these trainers and definitely see myself wearing them well into the spring!
