STYLE GURU STYLE: Plaid Perfection

Tory Burch’s recent pre-fall 2015 runway show makes me want to keep this chilly weather just a little bit longer. From her wide range of patterns to the oversized coats and dresses, I felt like going out and buying the entire line. The designs were so different from anything I have seen before. It was the perfect mix of classic and yet modern fashion. Some details that particularly drew me in were the girly yet sophisticated looks. I always think of fall as a time to wear darker more neutral colors, however, Tory Burch incorporates bright colors and shows us that our fall wardrobes don’t necessarily need to be drab.

So, after looking at and loving the line, I decided to give it a try myself. Today I gave Tory Burch’s runway designs a bit of a more college-casual look. I decided to stick with the staple item that all college students have in their closets: a flannel. I love the classic navy and blue print in my Charolette Russe oversized flannel. I paired this nothing else but an oversized knit sweater from H&M. Although the flannel is not real flannel material like I would prefer, the sweater underneath makes it just as warm. I also wore a pair of Steve Madden booties, but to give this look a more feminine feel I wore a pair of navy skinnies and a red lip.

This pre-fall runway show gave me the inspiration to pair some of my favorite pieces that I wouldn’t have normally put together. This outfit is edgy and perfect for class or a dinner with the girls.

Get My Look: 1. A flannel. 2. A pop of color. 3. Your favorite booties.
