STYLE GURU STYLE: Not Quite Over Overalls

Although it’s a little too cold for comfort in my neck of the woods, I can’t help but dream of spring at the moment. From pastel culottes to leather shorts, my spring wishlist is getting a little bit out of control. Since I’m all about minimalistic, crisp pieces for the new season, I instantly fell in love with Rebecca Minkoff’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. I found myself swooning over the breezy fabrics and the insanely perfect powder blue pieces. While I’d give up my latte addiction in a heartbeat to own the entire collection, this look inspired me the most. Even if they’ve been around for a few seasons, overalls are still an absolute must in my book.

Styling a pair of overalls can definitely be a little tricky. While I sometimes fear I might show up on campus looking like a toddler, I’ve found that when styled with the right pieces, overalls are perfect for those days when all you want to do is lounge in sweatpants and watch Girls reruns. Since it’s a little chilly, I opted for a cropped fuzzy sweater instead of the white top seen on the runway. To make my look perfect for a day spent hunting down textbooks, I took a few pointers from my favorite bloggers and slipped on some white sneakers.

When the weather perks up, you’ll definitely find me sporting these overalls with breezy tops and heeled sandals. Regardless of the change in season, it’s totally obvious that overalls are here to stay this spring.

Get My Look: 1. Denim overalls. 2. A fuzzy sweater. 3. A pair of white sneakers.
