STYLE GURU STYLE: Mid-Summer Dream

It is only midway through summer, and I am already looking to the fall ready-to-wear runway shows for inspiration. One collection really caught my eye, Rochas fall 2016 ready-to-wear. It has elements of everything I love for fall–from small winter garden florals to a rich color palette and embroidery. My favorite looks from the collection are a combination of all of those things. The collection is made up of long sleeve, midi dresses, wide leg trousers and tailored jackets. All accessorized with neckties, chunky platform heels and slouchy tube socks.

The collection has a feel for a decorated and feminine aesthetic, which creates a delicately rich collection. There is much depth and texture in the way of variance in fabrics from velvet to silk and of course wind-swept chiffon layered over slips. The choice of weightless fabrics is something fresh to see on a fall runway, which is perfect for inspiring what I am wearing this summer.

Taking notes from this dreamy runway, I am wearing an airy, microfloral, black and white, chiffon dress with an inner slip. This dress has tons of movement, as do many of the pieces in the collection. With a flounce bottom, a billowy cold shoulder top and messy with swirls of ruffles this lightweight dress is perfect for any special occasion. Styled with a long trailing, black neck scarf and chunky, lace-up heels with floral detailing on the front, I am taking inspiration from all of the romantically feminine elements of the Rochas fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection.
