STYLE GURU STYLE: Maxis And Milan

When thinking of Emilio Pucci, bold prints come to mind. This trend stayed true for the spring 2015 line that was released at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year. The line seemed to be inspired by Milan (fitting considering the location right?) in the ’70s, showcasing flowy dresses, wavy hair and suede boots.

Being the tall girl that I am (standing at almost six feet), this show stood out to me because of the focus on halter necklines and maxi dresses. The bold prints and the neckline add more of a feminine touch while also creating the illusion that I have curves. I took inspiration from the maxi dress that Kendall Jenner wore on the runway, keeping the outfit simple outside of the dress.

The main piece of this outfit was a blue printed maxi dress from LOFT. I decided to stay with the halter neckline trend because it attracts attention to the center of the body, making them perfect for girls who are tall or have broad shoulders. I added a gold cuff from kate spade along with a gold ring from Etsy.

Since the outfit was bold, I kept the accessories and makeup light, only wearing mascara and tinted moisturizer. Looking at the models on the runway, they had loose waves in their hair. I realized that I could achieve the same look by adding a sea salt spray after lightly curling my hair. The looks on the runway tended to be minimal in comparison to other shows, so I topped of the outfit with some simple, strappy sandals from Gap.

Get My Look: 1. Printed maxi dress. 2. Strappy sandals. 3. Gold accessories.
