What’s better than geometric shapes? That’s right, mixing them with bold colors. This maximum impact trend is here to help you stand out from the crowd!
This bold trend has been seen across a variety of designers but I took inspiration specifically from the Christian Dior fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. I loved the look of the colorful geometric shapes coming down the runway, but for an everyday outfit head-to-toe print might be a little much! So, I decided to take the the bold pop of color and concentrate it in my jacket. Similarly to the way the looks were styled for Dior’s collection, I tried to keep the rest of my outfit sleek and understated. The black leggings, gloves, booties and white scarf helped to keep the focus on the powerful colors and shapes of my jacket. The contrast of colors gives the perfect balance of a maximum impact look with an everyday vibe (plus, the fingerless gloves and scarf are perfect on those chilly fall days)!
Although I featured the maximum impact trend in a jacket, there are many other ways to make a bold statement using geometry and bright colors. You can rock a dress, pants, skirt or shirt with a similar print while keeping the rest of the outfit sleek and simple. Whatever your style is, I think that the maximum impact could be added to anyone’s wardrobe to keep their closet on-trend!
