STYLE GURU STYLE: Mad For Plaid

Now that 2015 has come to a close, I’ve decided to take advantage of wearing my favorite trends from the year. Plaid was all over the runway this year, but Madewell’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection especially made me mad for plaid! From peacoats and turtleneck sweaters to denim midi skirts, this line is absolute perfection. Not to mention it is casual, ready-to-wear and affordable! This collection featured neutral and autumnal tones, which is perfect for the transition from fall to winter. With the combination of these colors with many different textures and patterns, Fashionistas can be inspired in a variety of different ways from this collection.

I’ve translated my love for Madewells’s plaid pieces into my everyday wear. As the temperature starts to drop in the northeast, I decided to keep my outfits casual. This multi-colored plaid flannel top is a perfect way to stay cozy, yet trendy on a bitter cold winter day. Not only that, it fits perfectly under a bulky winter parka. My go-to hat is my pom-pom beanie, which ties this winter look together. My guilty pleasure is definitely my pair of UGGs   and believe it or not, they are back and better than ever. They are not only practical, but also look adorable with classic skinny blue jeans. What’s better than being fashionable and comfortable?

The best thing about plaid tops is that they are very versatile and can be dressed up or down! Pair your favorite plaid flannel top with a skirt, booties, some arm candy and a cocoon or peacoat, and you have the perfect transition from everyday to evening.
