STYLE GURU STYLE: GTL, Baby!

In the ever-wise words of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, GTL is, “The process of staying fresh and mint. Stands for ‘Gym, tan, laundry.’ Must be done every day to achieve maximum potential.” I have to say; I’ve never related to a Jersey Shore quote more than that one right there. With the athleisure trend still going full force, I will always choose a cool pair of tennis shoes over high heels. Versatile outfits, like this one, are the best because you can wear them to places other than just the gym and still look stylish.

I started this look with Nike leggings and a sports bra because I wanted it to be a look for the gym before anything else. It’s no secret that black is my favorite clothing color because of its slimming effect and the sleekness, and that’s why I chose these specific athletic pieces for this look. To add a little something extra, I wore my Adidas Pureboost sneakers and let me tell you, these shoes feel like you’re not wearing anything on your feet. They are so light and comfy, and they’re perfect for not only running on the treadmill but also running errands.

To stay warm during this particularly cold Virginia day, I threw on my go-to winter coat. Pretty much everyone owns an olive green anorak coat but I like to spice mine up with some unique accessories. I’m pretty obsessed with this studded backpack purse that I just got. It’s a little edgy and extra but sleek at the same time. And, I can fit all my gym stuff and things for running around town in it. The other accessory I added was this multi-colored North Face beanie. I love how fun it is with the oversized pompom on top and the bright colors.

Although I definitely don’t take “GTL” as seriously as the cast of Jersey Shore, this outfit is not only perfect for the gym, but also a multitude of other errands that I will inevitably remember that I have to run while I’m literally running.
