STYLE GURU STYLE: Funky, Flirty and Floral

The Emanuel Ungaro fall 2016 ready-to-wear runway show caught my eye immediately. The styles in this runway show include various dark colors with a pop of color somewhere in the outfit. Textures like embroidered floral, white lace and fishnet stockings dominate this runway. The runway look that I was particularly inspired by was a black romper featuring a colorful, embroidered floral print.

I have always liked floral print, but I usually stay away from it because I feel as though it is hard to pull off all of the time. I have recently started to like embroidered shirts, which are an easy way to wear a tiny pop of color or pattern without letting it take over your whole outfit. I was able to translate the embroidered romper runway look into my own look. My look is more girly and casual than the runway look, this is an outfit I would wear to school or out to lunch!

I wore a dark black shirt with extremely colorful floral embroidery on the sleeve and on the right side of the shirt. I believe this was the perfect pop of color because I was still able to add black to my outfit which is normally hard to do when wearing such a bold pattern like floral. In order to translate this look into my own I wore ripped boyfriend jeans inspired by the edgy feel of the Ungaro collection. These jeans are comfortable, fashionable and help pull the outfit together. I wore coral colored, lace flats that went nicely with the flirty style of this outfit.

Get My Look: 1. Any neutral colored shirt with colorful embroidery. 2. Ripped boyfriend jeans. 3. Lace flats.
