STYLE GURU STYLE: Feminine Menswear

New York Fashion Week is always a super exciting time for all of us runway lovers. Seeing all of the new trends and the hottest celebrities is enough to keep us all engaged for hours. One fashion show that I particularly enjoyed was the DKNY fall 2015 ready-to-wear. This show featured a lot of menswear and baggy styles, which I thought looked incredibly sophisticated. I know that a lot of girls often feel very intimidated by menswear styles, but I believe that if you pair them with feminine accessories and/or shoes, you can create the perfect runway-to-street look.

The DKNY show also featured a lot of primary colors and monochromatic looks, which are definitely my favorite. I haven’t been very impressed with DKNY shows in the past, but I really did enjoy this most recent show. Many of the clothes created very boxy silhouettes, which I believe can be very flattering. As long as you balance out boxy items with more slim-fit pieces, you can have yourself a very put-together outfit. In my look this week, I tried to incorporate some more boxy/menswear-like styles into my daily wardrobe. I paired black baggy jogging pants with a black turtleneck crop top and suede booties. The heeled booties kept my legs looking slim even though I wore baggy style pants. I kept the accessories light, like in the DKNY show, and just added a subtle gold chain. I topped this all off with a light leather jacket, because there’s nothing I love more than adding leather to my looks.

Get My Look: 1. Joggers. 2. Turtleneck crop top. 3. Gold chain necklace.
