STYLE GURU STYLE: Cutting Edge Vests

Everyone in the tri-state area knows that New York Fashion Week is the most important time of the year. Designers from all across the nation work all year long just for the opportunity to showcase their designs for the upcoming season. Among the many shows throughout the week, there were a few that really stood out to me that I could really use and transform into my own style. The Charlotte Ronson collection showcased many neutral colors as well as cutting edge jackets with a sharp cut dimension that really struck me.

I translated this runway look into my outfit in a few different ways. I stuck with the neutral and earth tone colors as she did in her runway show. I paired a brown fur lined vest with the plaid shirt. This vest has special cutting dimensions that make it different than other articles of clothing. The angles in the front of the vest add shape, dimension and something different to the outfit. Since the weather is -20 degrees with the windchill, you definitely have to stay warm. One can never go wrong with jeans, which is why I stuck with a pair of light wash jeans to keep it casual for a simple day consisting of only one class. Lastly, I added beige scrunched socks and dark brown boots to match the vest. This outfit, in my opinion, is a good representation of the fall runway shows and the upcoming fall trends.

Get My Look: 1. An angled vest. 2. A plaid shirt. 3. A pair of booties.
