It’s no secret that street style has been taking the fashion industry by storm. This past New York Fashion Week, Rihanna brought street style to the runway with her Fenty x Puma debut collection. For a Fashionista like myself, who lives for black and white, this show was everything I could have hoped for. Models donned black and white ensembles with either platform sneakers or lace-up boxing boots, along with amazing faux fur quarter zips.
By now everyone that knows me knows I am all about the athleisure trend, which this collection combined perfectly with edgy street style vibes; however, the best part about this collection is the wearability of all of the clothing. I decided to pull some of my favorite black and white pieces together to make a look that screamed Fenty x Puma and is perfect for transitioning to spring.
The looks in the collection were pretty provocative, which I loved, but would not be wearable for class (at least not in Ohio). For this reason, I decided to keep it simple and comfortable, throwing on my black lululemon leggings, which are perfect for going from class straight to the gym. I paired the leggings with a tight, black cropped turtleneck with graphic writing that I recently purchased at Forever 21.
As far as the shoes go, I wanted something comfortable and practical (don’t get me wrong I am all for the platforms, but not while walking up and down hills to class). I tossed on my adidas sneakers, which I am absolutely living for right now, that help give an athleisure vibe to the outfit. I then looked at myself in the mirror and needed to add something to make me feel as cool as bad girl RiRi. So, of course, I draped my favorite leather jacket over my shoulders, which also helped keep me warm. For accessories, I kept it minimal (but still funky) with a cross-body bag with no other than Karl Lagerfeld’s face on it.
This collection was by far one of my favorites from New York Fashion Week this year because it can be interpreted in so many different ways. The looks are truly inspiring and I hope that this helps any of you out there reading this to turn into the street style star I know you are.
