I absolutely feel in love with Cut25 by Yigal Azrouël’s pre-fall 2015 collection, because even though it’s quite simple, it shows that black is universal and always a good choice. The monochromatic combination of a leather collared button-down with a black blazer leads to a sophisticated look for work or an interview. My favorite style was the second look that brought in white to beautifully contrast the black.
I decided to replicate this, but with a bit of a plot twist to my outfit. I wore mostly black with my skater skirt, leggings and blazer. I decided to wear a printed button-down because I was traveling and had not brought my white button-down. For shoes, you could wear absolutely anything you want, but I decided to go for a pair of black ankle boots. I also added my white purse to have more white and black contrast. I added a small golden necklace to finish the look, but could have easily left it out and still looked adorable.
As winter approaches, this collection has inspired me to try more black and white contrasting outfits and to never underestimate those colors! I love button-downs. When I saw the leather collared button-down, I immediately went looking for one for my future fashion undertakings.
