STYLE GURU STYLE: Beat The Heat

Although back to school commercials have been on a loop since mid July and some of you are already back on campus, let us not forget that it is August. Yes, August—the hottest month out of the entire year. With its arrival comes more makeup setting spray and less clothing. If we’re being honest, dressing for summer—heat to be particular—can sometimes be a challenge. When it comes to inspiration for keeping cool during this last glorious month of summer, Chloé’s spring 2015 runway is the place to go. The light, airy look and feel to the collection is everything you would want to embody as this summer draws to a close.

I interpret this collection into my everyday look by incorporating its light fabrics and colors. The white shorts paired with a loosely fitted pink blouse allow for comfort when dealing with the weather without stripping completely. My necklace adds a nice subtle addition of color and helps to round out the look, and my quilted white tennis shoes keep it from getting too dressy. Throw on a couple of bangles or some statement earrings and the look is complete! Chloé’s spring 2015 collection also has a lot of long sleeved shirts accompanied by shorts which I used in my look as well to bring a sense of balance. The great thing about this look is that it can be dressed up or down depending on your mood, and can be worn into the pre-fall season.

Get My Look: 1. Loose-fitting blouse. 2. White shorts. 3. Quilted tennis shoes.
