STYLE GURU STYLE: Are You Fur Real?

As temperatures get well below zero in the heart of winter, all I seem to want to wear are chunky knits and fleece-lined leggings. Needless to say, it’s not the most flattering look. So what is a Fashionista to do when the weather just isn’t on her side? Get cozy with some faux fur, of course!

I would be lying if I said I didn’t go all heart-eyes emoji over Céline handbags. Recently, I’ve really been loving the fashion house’s take on winter staples. The Céline fall 2015 collection is a pure representation that fashion does not have to suffer in the winter months. The traditional fur coat is totally revamped by combining bold fur trims with delicate silhouettes. The combination of hard and soft textures conveys an intense level of confidence that all women should strive for as they get dressed in the morning. An added bonus—the touch of fur is super warm!

I was inspired to experiment with faux fur in my own wardrobe. The statement piece of this look is the coat. I love that the fur is placed solely on the chest. It adds enough visual interest without swallowing the entire body. The coat is sleeveless, which really gives it a chic and effortless vibe once it’s layered with soft knits underneath. Because the coat is a beautiful emerald green, I opted for muted tones in the rest of the outfit. A simple long-sleeve black dress paired with black knee-high socks gives the perfect combination of warmth and style. To tie everything together, I featured a cool pair of black booties. The pointed toe really elongates the leg and takes the outfit to another level.

Get My Look: 1. Fur coat. 2. Knee-high socks. 3. Little black dress.
