STYLE GURU STYLE: A Pop of Color

Crop tops and shorts are the perfect match when it comes to summer attire, but who said you can’t add white high-waisted pants into the mix? For whatever your day consists of, make sure to brighten up your style and give it the colorful appeal it needs to gain the attention you seek.

Inspired by the Dimitri Berlin spring 2016 runway show, I noticed the way this designer styles the collection’s classic pieces. One might believe that black is always the way to go, but why not change it up and express yourself with different prints and colors to spice up the outfit. By doing this, you will be able to express not only your personal vibe for the day but as well as your trendy style that others will envy. Dimitri first look included a classic white crop top, black blazer, hat and pants to give it a sophisticated look. To make it Dimitri’s own, the designer added a unique printed belt and necklaces that gave it a pop of color. Not only does this piece of the collection have color, but he also made it cohesive throughout the rest of his spring 2016 collection.

White pants will always go out of season, which means you should get as much use out of them before they are thrown in the back of your closet is always the best suggestion. To reflect off of the spring 2016 runway show, I added my own touch by layering my crop top with a floral kimono and multi-chain necklaces to give my black crop top more detail. Lastly, I wore a slouchy cross-body bag and teal sandals to reflect off of my main piece to distribute the color without going overboard.

Get My Look: 1. A floral kimono. 2. White jeans. 3. A black crop top.
