STYLE GURU BIO: Xinyi Wang

I am beyond excited to announce my return as a Style Guru for the spring semester, again! After almost one year writing for CollegeFashionista, I found my interest in the fashion industry and will keep pursuing my dream. Even though the post was set to one per month, I am still looking out for Fashionistas and Fashionistos around campus all the time. You may think that here in the Midwest every one wears sports team jersey and leggings. I could responsibly tell you that: You are wrong. Here in Madison, we embrace the diversity of students and faculty. I always find stylish people with their chic backpacks walking to class.

I looked back to the first ever post on my website and felt slightly embarrassed. My style has transformed from high school sweatshirts and jeans to my own style. I started collecting vintage clothes, but I look out for new trends as well. This pair of Manolo Blahnik pointed-toe high heels were purchased from a second hand website but the Furla metropolis mini was freshly bought one month ago on Black Friday.

Although winter will last a little bit longer here in Wisconsin, I couldn’t wait for several fashion events upcoming in this college town. MODAmadison, our own fashion magazine will hold an annual fashion show on March and I believe CollegeFashionista will hold more activities in here too. For spring break, I plan to go to New York City again with my friends; taking lots of pictures and visiting vintage stores are on top of my list.

During Black Friday, I finally had some items crossed off my wish list and one of them is a new camera. A better lens and function allow me to take pictures more freely and enjoy photographing.

Let the Christmas and New Year approach and then comes another semester with CollegeFashionista! See you in 2016!
