STYLE GURU BIO: Taylor Palmby

I write this while cozily sitting on my counter-top, in my favorite pair of joggers, on Christmas Eve. I’m happy as a clam after I unwrapped a few presents and found items from Nasty Gal that had been on my wish list for a while now. Almost everything I received was black because my family knows that my wardrobe lacks any other color.

This year has flown by, and I can’t believe the new year is already upon us. I can’t wait to see what amazing adventures 2016 holds. As I embark on this journey, I want to reflect on who I am, what I want to accomplish and all the wonderful opportunities I’ve received.

I am 20 years old, and I studyJournalism and Strategic Communication at The University of Wisconsin-Madison. When I asked my family and friends to describe me in three words almost all of them chose eccentric and outgoing, probably because I’ve never been one to follow the crowd, and I’m never afraid to voice my opinion. I fall in love with people and places easily and often, because I think in every person or place there lies immense beauty even if it’s hidden.

If you know me, you know that I’m obsessed with 5 Seconds of Summer. I have no shame in the fact that the loves of my life are four Australian boys who have no idea I exist. You should also know that my favorite noise is the scratchy sound of my record player and the sound of rain falling in July. I truly believe that I could live off of nachos, ice cream and sushi and be perfectly content. As far as fashion goes, I love staying up to date on the latest trends.  Someday when I’m the Editor-in-Chief of a fashion magazine, I hope to own something by Alexander McQueen.

My look today was inspired by something I saw in the last issue of Cosmopolitan, my favorite magazine. I paired joggers with heels and a turtleneck to create a comfy but classy look. My favorite part of the look is the classic Chanel bag; I think it really completes the outfit. I really enjoyed putting this look together and I loved how seamlessly my joggers transferred from slouchy to elegant.

I can’t wait to for another RAD semester as a Style Guru! Thanks for reading, and I hope 2016 is your best year yet! Peace and love.
