STYLE GURU BIO: Nina Starcevich

Hello and welcome!

I’m Nina and I’m so excited to announce that I am officially a Style Guru!! I believe that to know where you’re going, you have to always remember where you’ve been, so introduce myself, I would like to let you all know where I’ve gained all of my passions in life. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and have fond memories of window gazing at the beautiful designs on magnificent mile as well as making crafty little trinkets with pearls and sequins left on the ground in my grandmother’s quaint bridal shop of Joliet. That beautiful little bridal shop, where my grandmother and I would sketch out our dream bridal gowns, is where my love for fashion began. Both her and my mother attended schools of design, which sparked an aspiration in me to be involved in the arts from a very young age. Over the years, my style has been through many creative and inventive stages that have helped me become fearless when it comes to trying new trends and fads. When I’m not sure what to wear, I like to start putting together my outfits with something minimalistic, such as a denim dress like the one pictured above and then build around it with loads of accessories such as modern watches, sleek bags and fun jewelry.

I’ve been so grateful that my entire family has all been 100 percent supportive towards my dreams of attending Columbia College Chicago where I’m currently studying Arts Management with a minor in Marketing. As cliché as this may sound, I truly have a wide variety of interests, due to growing up in such a large and loud family with many different opinions. I enjoy anything from Sports Marketing to Curating to Interior Design to Fashion Design to Non-Profit work and so much more. As jumbled up as these interests can get, I hold my passion for Non-Profit work above all else because if there is one thing I can take away that my life has taught me so far, it is to do good work but for more than just your own benefit.
