STYLE GURU BIO: Nicole Pedrick

Hello there Fashionistas/os! I’m Nicole Pedrick and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I am a junior at Temple University in Philadelphia studying strategic communications with a focus in public relations.

I’ve always been obsessed with fashion. All throughout high school and college, I’ve watched all the latest runway shows. I would stay up late watching every behind the scenes video I could get my hands on. From the clothing to the hair and makeup trends, I love it all.

Fashion week has easily become my favorite time of the year. In fact, this year I had the chance to attend New York Fashion Week. The passion and hard work that I saw behind the scenes is exactly what has inspired me to pursue a career in fashion public relations.

Fashion is always changing and that’s what makes it most interesting! Whether it be this season’s mini skirt or last season’s autumnal berry lips—whatever it is, you can be sure that it will be featured in my wardrobe.

Over time, my style has completely changed. My style is classic and simplistic but a little edgy. I’m usually seen wearing black or white and ALWAYS sporting a red lip. Red lipstick has easily become my signature to anyone who knows me. It’s not a good day without the cherry pout. It has the power to make you instantly look put together, no effort needed.

I’m pretty low fuss. I like to wear jeans and T-shirt with a classic chelsea boot. Some days I love to be girlie and wear dresses. My girlie side kicks in and all I want to do is play dress up and try new things. I’m never afraid to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to clothes. My favorite pieces at the moment are my leather trimmed Sandro Paris coat and my much loved pair of Paige Denim jeans. When it comes to style icons, I love anything Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Taylor Swift and Emma Watson wear. Elegant but simple.

What do I do in my spare time? Everything—or at least I try to! I have a part-time job at J.Crew and on lazy days I love to watch films. I never tire from a good romantic comedy or classic. Love Actually, About a Boy, and Bridget Jones’s Diary are my absolute favorites! And Breakfast at Tiffany’s will always hold a special place in my heart.

I look forward to this semester and all the fun that it will bring! Check back next month for my first of many articles to come!
