Hey Fashionistas! I’m Natalie Plackowski, and I could not be more excited to share my love for fashion and the great variety of trends across my college campus with you this semester. I’m currently a sophomore at San Diego State University, in the always warm and sunny San Diego, majoring in business marketing. I’m actually a quite indecisive person, so the fact that I made the decision to pursue a business degree is a huge step for me. However, I owe that to my love for clothes, beauty, fashion and, of course, the support of many great people in my life. My goal is to one day work in the fashion industry, which I am slowly reaching by expanding my knowledge and skills by working at Nordstrom and now through this wonderful opportunity to report to all my fashion enthusiasts of CollegeFashionista.

My love for clothes and fashion as a form of expression didn’t truly start to emerge until I reached high school, when I realized there was more to each school day than the typical pair of jeans and a Hollister sweatshirt. As I progressed through high school, I started to become more aware of changing styles each year at different stores and through fashion magazines. Lauren Conrad was my first style inspiration, and I became so into her looks that I bought her beauty and fashion books and even attended her book tour where I had the chance to meet her! I would describe my style very similar to Lauren’s, which is feminine and classy. However, I love to switch up different looks now and again. That is one of the many reasons why I love fashion; it allows you to express whatever mood you are in or dress in a way to feel more confident.

To record my changing style over the years, I started my own blog titled BlondesandChanel on Tumblr. This has been my outlet to share fashion inspiration, outfit of the days and so much more related to beauty and fashion. The blog has become my hobby for times when I just need to emerge into the fashion world and create a series of different posts.

I feel that it is key to stay up to date on these different trends, and with this opportunity to write for CollegeFashionista, I will further grow and develop skills where I can interact with you, my readers, to share the latests trends or style ideas that come my way.

Black booties are a must-have this winter and are perfectly acceptable for the upcoming spring season. I wear mine with almost anything, including jeans, dresses and skirts! Pairing them with white boyfriend jeans and a sweater creates the perfect holiday look for this christmas season or a perfect outfit to wear either shopping or to brunch with some friends! I can’t wait to share many more exciting styles with you this upcoming semester, so let’s make it a great one!
