STYLE GURU BIO: Michelle Bonikos

Hello everyone! I am very excited to be returning to CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru this spring semester! Last fall was my first semester as a Style Guru, and I have learned and gained so much experience that I am forever grateful for. I also want to thank those who have viewed my articles, as I appreciated other Style Guru’s articles as well!

Although I am a returning Style Guru, I would like to take this time to tell you all a bit about myself. Firstly, I am a junior at SUNY Oneonta, with a major in fashion merchandise. I am so passionate about my major because it gives me an opportunity to express myself in many different ways-an obvious route being style.

My two passions have always been photography. Combining these two passions has been such an inspiring experience. When you do two things you love, it feels less like work and it becomes a way of self-expression. So be on the lookout for my new and creative articles this semester and see my perspective on the new and upcoming fashion trends.

My dream job right now is to be a creative director for a fashion magazine, but I have many different interests with in the fashion industry, so I am going to keep my mind open. My number one style icon is definitely Kendall Jenner, and my favorite designer is Olivier Rousteing of Balmain. His pieces always seem to inspire me with his different textures, cuts and colors.

Although, I do not like to limit myself by saying I have a specific taste or style because I can appreciate almost any kind of fashion. That being said, I admire and appreciate almost any designer for their creativity.

With any outfit, I believe accessories are a must. You will always find me with a bold bag, striking shoes or a chunky piece of jewelry. As seen in my pictures above, I am seen wearing a faux leather jacket over a light sweater. To add more detail, I added an elegant necklace. To break up the monotonous color scheme, I wore a bold colored bag.

I love adding my own personal touch and that is what makes fashion so personable. Well, that’s a little bit about myself! Hope you guys enjoy my articles during this upcoming semester!
