Hello fellow Fashionista/os! My name is Megan Jacobs, and I am a rising senior and Communications major at The College of Charleston. This is my first internship with CollegeFashionista and I could not be more thrilled to have the opportunity to share some of my style with you!
I am originally from a small town in New Jersey, but now split my time between home and Charleston, South Carolina. Living in two drastically different areas has definitely helped shape and develop my style into a blend of many different looks. To try and keep up with the latest trends, I love to follow several fashion blogs, Instagram accounts and look-books such as the ones on Saboskirt. I believe it is important to keep an open mind about different fashion trends, and following different bloggers is a great way to do that!
From kindergarten through senior year of high school, I attended small private schools in which uniforms were my “go-to” style. It wasn’t until college that I was able to explore what type of looks I liked or even wanted to try. In order to grow with your personal style, you have to be willing to take risks. I have bought several pieces that, at first, were completely outside of my comfort zone. However, it is those bold pieces that have become some of my favorites. For example, I have recently followed the Kardashians in their love of the midi skirt, especially for special summer occasions! Though my semester has come to an end, I am excited to explore and travel in hopes of seeing some awesome summer fashion along the way!
Some of my favorite Style Gurus to follow include Holly Reimer from the University of Iowa, and Eva Thomas from the University of Minnesota! Both girls have great style and advice to learn from.
