STYLE GURU BIO: Marissa Kaufman

It’s that time of the year again, back to the books, all-nighters and a relapse into your coffee addiction. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Marissa Kaufman. This fall I’ll be starting my junior year at Suffolk University as a transfer student from the University of Pittsburgh. When I’m not nerding it out as a biochemistry major, I spend my free time behind a camera, obsessing over Spotify playlists and laughing at my own jokes.

I’d like to think my style incorporates the two C”s vital to everyone’s closet, classy and comfortable. I live religiously by the idea that black, tan and white are primary colors, red lipstick makes any day better and leggings are definitely considered pants. It’s hard to pinpoint where my style originated. All of the lovely women in my life (s/o to mom and aunt) certainly have had their share of strong opinions on fashion throughout the years, but those very opinions made me the creative Style Guru I am today! As a girl with a New England spirit and a “Pixburgh” attitude, I’m so excited to discover some brand new styles and morph them with my own flair.

This particular outfit above is all about the accessories. I’m a firm believer that no outfit is complete without some fun jewelry added to the mix. I spruced up a crisp, white collared blouse under a gray knit sweater and my favorite skinny jeans with a collection of metal necklaces, black high-heeled booties and some fun rings to pull together the neutral color scheme.

This semester, I invite you to join me as I embark on a journey to find some of Boston’s greatest Fashionistas/os who aren’t afraid to mix it up, get creative and most importantly BE THEMSELVES. Be sure to follow my page as well as my Instagram and Facebook for updates on a fashion-filled fall!
