Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Maglin Keaveny, but you can (please) call me Maggie. I am a junior at Clemson University studying marketing in the School of Business and Behavioral Sciences. This town has seriously been put on the map for its talent on the football field, but I’m here to shed some light on the Fashionistas/os that make up this small town!

Being from Charleston, South Carolina, I have always had a deep connection to Southern roots and traditions, but somehow I have always been interested in bigger and better things. My search for new things has always been fulfilled through fashion. I have tried going with the flow of everything around me, copying friends’ ideas of “fashion,” and I have even tried not caring at all about what I wear. However, college (and paying for my own clothes) has somehow inspired me to love what I wear solely because of the way it makes me feel. Obviously, dressing to impress is one thing that people should always bear in mind, but dressing for yourself should be the first step to every outfit you choose.

I would describe my style as comfortable yet sophisticated with a sliver of edge. I never wear clothes that I am not confident and comfortable in because clothing is supposed to be a representation of how you feel, and it is near impossible to feel your best while worrying about what you are wearing. I have always been told to watch my attitude and tone down the sass, which is probably where the edge in my style comes from. So, love it or hate it (hopefully the former), welcome to a semester of my style!

In my articles, I hope you find that staple pieces can transform your closet just as much as statement pieces, and that style is what you feel and how you let it show, not just what you are able to buy! For this look, I chose to pair this cozy sweater dress with my favorite over-the-knee boots. December in Charleston means 75 degrees, so as much as I would love to be bundled up in layers, I have to keep things realistic with lighter fabrics while still covering up appropriately for the season. December in Charleston also means that this bag is the perfect accessory for shopping with tons of room to store things as you go!
