My name is Lydia Berry and this is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I am a freshman at the University of Nebraska and am currently studying fashion merchandising. Though I currently live in Lincoln, Nebraska, my dream one day is to live in the big city.

Growing up, I’ve always loved fashion. Over time it’s helped me find my voice and helped me become more independent within my own style. I have my own personal blog, which serves as a creative fashion/writing outlet for me and has helped me develop the skills needed for this very internship!

My style can be described in many ways. Most of the time I opt for a clean and feminine look. Other times, I like to capture an edgy-chic style. The look above is an example of what I’d call clean and feminine. I love dressing up a great pair of blue jeans, and this sheer lace blouse helps me do that. It fits in all the right places and is overall feminine. I love pieces that pop like these coral heels as well as a good staple piece. I think accessories are crucial to an outfit but feel that it’s important not to overdo it, which is why I usually stick with a pair of cat-eye sunglasses and a simple watch.

You can find me shopping at Zara, H&M, or Urban Outfitters most of the time. I’m all about an affordable look but also am a strong advocator for a little splurge here and there. I think clothes have the power to help us feel confident and embrace who we are as individuals.
