STYLE GURU BIO: Kristina McInnis

Hello loves! I am beyond excited to be taking on my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. This past term, I blogged about trends around campus at Oregon State University and also around the Portland, Oregon area. Over the past three months, I participated in partnerships such as the collaboration with BooHoo and the GuruGang competition. I was lucky enough to start connecting on social media with other Style Guru Interns, which made the experience as a whole more interactive and rewarding.

My current obsessions are anything with faux fur and bright bucket bags. Faux fur is a cold weather must-have and can we worn in a variety of clothing or bag options. I had to buy one of these little Michael Kors furry puff balls that you can attach to your keys or handbags (I find myself constantly playing with mine). Faux fur vests have been a popular trend over the last few years and have, yet again, made an appearance this year in brand name stores. Pairing a fur vest with a statement bag is a  chic way to rock both trends without being too overdone. I love the tassels on my Rebecca Minkoff bag and the color is so vibrant. People always worry about spending a  big chunk of money on the latest trends, which is why I head straight for Forever 21 or Target.

In my free time, I work as an around the area editor for DAMchic, which is a fashion and lifestyle magazine run by students on campus. My last shoot just landed a cover spot, so I was beyond excited (and possibly did a little happy dance in Dutch Brothers when I found out). I was also elected as the Social Media Coordinator for Alpha Phi Beta Upsilon at Oregon State, so I think I check Instagram at least 30 times a day, constantly screenshotting ideas and running my data through the roof (my parents were not so happy last month). In addition to all my extracurricular activities, I am on the planning committee for the spring mother’s weekend fashion show. Trying to find time to myself is a little impossible when I live with 50 girls in a sorority, so I make time for myself to work out and fill my online shopping bags with things I will never buy. Stay tuned for some amazing fashion advice here and check out my own personal Instagram for more inspiration @kristinacatherine33.
