Greetings Fashionistas! My name is Kendra Cray and this is my first year as a Style Guru. I cannot wait to begin this awesome journey.

I wear my blue and yellow with pride as a Georgia Southern Eagle majoring in Marketing/Fashion Merchandising. As a sophomore this year, the real GSU has introduced me to a wide variety of fashion and experiences. From southern chic to unpaved streets, Statesboro is definitely an entity of its own.

As a devout lover of the palazzo pant, I just had to showcase my favorite teal pair. This pair of pants went perfectly with my floral wing-sleeved dress (yes, I said dress) that I wore as a top. I added a black and white fur vest for layers and a two-toned statement necklace. To bring this outfit together, I wore a classic pair of black pumps.

But where, you may ask, did I find my fashionable instincts? Transitioning from middle school to high school opened my eyes to a wide variety of clothing options. A slightly awkward jeans and a t-shirt 9th grade girl was immediately introduced to an entire realm of ‘girly’ clothing upon her first day of high school. I would like to think experimenting with clothing gave me a voice in high school and later paved the way for my fashion advocacy and lead me to create my own person blog CollegeGirlKendra.

A solid outfit can give me the confidence I need to seize the day. I dress up because it’s fun. I love creating different combinations of my clothing. I dress up because it’s a test of your confidence. Dressing up forces you to develop the self-assurance necessary to stand out from everyone else. I dress up because nothing beats the rush I feel when I look in the mirror and love what I see. Being a Style Guru is only going to expand my fashionable horizons and I cannot wait to share with y’all every Friday!
