STYLE GURU BIO: Katelyn Bonte

Hello! I am Katelyn Bonte and this is my first semester with CollegeFashionista! This is a very exciting time for me, and I can’t wait to spend my summer looking for fashion and sharing my ideas! I transferred to University of Wisconsin-Madison in hopes of pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering. However, my passion for the fashion industry changed my future career path and now I am majoring in Retailing, and graduating in December of 2015.

Growing up in a town of 1200 people, I always liked a city feel, but still had country roots. I started riding horses at two years old, then started showing horses around second grade. The embellished and gaudy outfits sparked my intense passion for fashion. My style is definitely edgy, feminine and unique. My favorite items to shop for are an edgy pair of heels, and statement pieces to add to my wardrobe.

I wasn’t always an aspiring Fashionista. I grew up on a farm, with two brothers as siblings. By growing up with two brothers, I was a tomboy; I wore baggy T-shirts and jeans everywhere I went. It wasn’t really until high school when I became more aware of my fashion sense. I started putting different pieces together and playing with accessories. Upon graduating high school, I was voted best-dressed of my senior class. Watching America’s Next Top Model was my favorite thing to do, especially because of all the high fashion it entailed.

Fashion expresses my unique personality and helps me emulate the person I truly am. Joining CollegeFashionista makes me so excited to spend my summer doing my passion. Make sure to look every Wednesday for my articles! I look forward to learning from others, and also giving my style advice!
