STYLE GURU BIO: Karli Brush

Hey Fashionistas, happy new year! My name is Karli and this will be my second semester posting for CollegeFashionista. I go to Northeastern University in the beautiful city of Boston. I am currently studying business with a concentration in marketing. On campus, I am involved in NUDANCO, which one of the dance companies at Northeastern. I also like to get involved in our fashion club, but I love writing for CollegeFashionista because it is a place where I can connect with students around the country that are interested in the same things as me.

The beginning of a new year is always one of my favorite times. I love having a fresh start to get myself back on track. This year I am staying committed to making more time for myself to relieve me of all the stress that comes with school and life. What are your resolutions? One way I want to make more time for myself is to allow myself to have more fun with fashion. It’s so easy to stick with what is quick and simple, especially during the craziness of school and co-op searching. However, it is so easy to bump up your style with a little bit of accessorizing.

This outfit is an example of how I stick to simple pieces that I can pull out of my closet in a pinch and then use little accessories to make it more fun. I love a good pair of black jeans, so for this outfit I chose to pair my black Citizens of Humanity Rocket jeans with a neutral off the shoulder sweater from Aritzia. I paired it with a simple pair of booties and added a pop of color with this amazing bag by Rebecca Minkoff. Finally, I wanted to add a little edge, so I threw on a fun choker from Zara.

Have a great semester everyone—can’t wait to connect with you all!
