To my Fashionistas and Fashionistos- welcome! I am a senior at Hofstra University majoring in Public Relations. I am ecstatic to be a Style Guru for my spring semester. There’s a copious amount of well-dressed students walking around campus and I am beyond excited to stop them in their tracks and get every single detail of their outfit to share with you guys!
I believe a person should not have just one style. All of my friends can tell you that I switch up my look on a daily basis. I can be preppy one day, bohemian another and Kanye West the next. I am very surprising, which is what I believe fashion should be! I am currently obsessing over men-inspired looks, but for 2016 I definitely want to try the Western look. So, be prepared to see a lot of chunky belts and bandanas in the near future.
To be honest, winter is my least favorite time of the year. Tall boots, chunky sweaters, ridiculously cute jackets, fur, I mean who really likes that? (I hope you caught my sarcasm.) Unfortunately, here in New York, it does not feel like winter. The temperature has been in the 50s/low 60s for quite a few weeks and there’s a rumor that it will be 70 degrees on Christmas! Luckily for me, this means I can still wear my leather jackets. My favorite piece that I recently found, and I am not embarrassed to admit, is this leather jacket from Abercrombie & Fitch. Yes, I said it, Abercrombie & Fitch. I’m sure you haven’t thought of them since your middle school days, but I must admit you can always find something cute and affordable. I complimented the leather jacket with an oversized white button down from J.Crew and some Freda Salvador patent leather loafers which completes my mens-inspired look that I am currently obsessing over. Oh, and you will always find me cuffing my pants.
I’m so excited to embark on this new adventure with you guys. Stay tuned for future articles!
