STYLE GURU BIO: Jessica Feldman

Hey guys! My name is Jessica Feldman, and I am currently a student at Binghamton University. I am thrilled to announce that I am officially a new Style Guru for the amazing CollegeFashionista team! From the time I was old enough to dress myself, I have been a shameless victim to the allure of couture. This is my first step toward sharing my passion for it publicly with all of you.

Growing up, I would frequently force my younger brothers to allow me to doll them up in my favorite items of clothing and accessories: skirts, dresses, shorts and headbands—you name it. Obviously, this was a little ridiculous of me, but having two brothers and no sisters…well, really—what else was a budding stylist to do? Now that I’m older and know better, I’m excited to now be taking a slightly different and infinitely more practical approach to expressing my love for all things fashion.

My personal style varies based on my mood and the season, but you will often find me shopping at stores such as Urban Outfitters and Zara. I would classify my style mostly as edgy, sometimes with a girly or indie twist. In this cold weather, there are days where I’ll want nothing more than to throw on a flannel, beanie and combat boots; there are others where I’ll just want to bundle up in a warm, comfortable sweater, wrapped in an ample, chunky scarf. The most important thing to remember during the freezing Binghamton winter months is to dress warmly (duh!). I’m here to show you that even when faced with the ridiculously low temperatures and blustery, bone-chilling winds, many students still manage to show that it is not impossible to feel snug and still look spectacular. I do believe though that it is safe to say that a majority of the students here are eagerly awaiting the return of warmer temperatures. I am confident that come springtime, they’ll peel their insulating layers off with panache to reveal refreshingly charming trends. I can’t wait to spot all of the dedicated Fashionista/os so I can ensure that their efforts no longer go unnoticed!
