STYLE GURU BIO: Jamie Walsh

Hello beauties! I am very excited to be a Style Guru for this upcoming semester. To know a little about me, I currently attend the University of Iowa and am a freshman. I can say that I am loving every second of this year. Fashion is a big part of my life and I can’t wait to share my style with all of you.

My mom knew that I always had an eye for fashion when I started to pick out my own clothes at the age of two. Even without knowing what matches with what, I somehow picked up the right idea. I was always looking to my older cousins for fashion advice. I can only hope that I have improved my eye for fashion as I have grown up over the years. Shopping is my favorite hobby, to say the least. I guess I am not ashamed to be a shopaholic and I love it. However, I know my bank account does not.

Winter fashion is a lot different than the rest of the seasons. This season’s fashion depends on where you live. Growing up and attending college in the Midwest, I have figured out the best way to style my day-to-day look without too many layers to create that bulky madness. There is no better way than to add a suede bootie from your fall collection to your winter ensemble. If there is no snow on the ground then this bootie is perfect to spice up your cold-fashioned look. I always love my taupe suede colored booties because they go with any black pant or jean as well.

Due to the chilling temperatures this season, I have paired my outfit with my favorite shin-length faux fur hooded black jacket. The faux fur is an amazing way to add that winter feel to your outfit. Fur is a must have for winter to keep you warm and in style. Black jackets are the way to go. You can always count on the black to match any of your daily winter outfits. I personally love any hooded faux fur coat because it gives that “lets go to the Arctic” feel.

Lastly, the scarf. I love to wear scarves during the winter time to add that last piece you need to complete the outfit. Infinity scarves were a big hit last year, but it is a must to have your favorite blanket scarf on you this season. The plaid in my scarf here incorporates the black from my jacket, as well as the taupe from my booties. This is the perfect combination because you can never go wrong with wearing black and nude together.

Keep it simple beauties, and don’t forget to stay #RAD.
