STYLE GURU BIO: Ilana Wayne

Hello Fashionistas/os!

My name is Ilana Wayne and this is my second semester serving as a College Fashionista on the University of Texas campus. I am so happy to be sharing with all of you the current styles and trends that UT students are bringing to the table this spring. Being a Textiles and Apparel major at one of the largest universities in the nation, I am able to discover fashionistas/os from all over the world.

The start of this semester in Austin is surprisingly going to bring a wave of sweaters, boots, and down jackets. However, these bulky silhouettes will quickly be turning into flowy and airy silhouettes with the rapid change of Texas weather. Even though winter lasts only a few weeks in this state, it is still always an adventure to see how Texans tackle the winter wardrobe.

Originally being from Atlanta and traveling up and down the east coast regularly, I am highly accustomed to a cold winter. With that said, winter clothes are some of my favorite styles to rock. As pictured above, bulky turtle neck sweaters are an essential for me. One of my favorite quick and on the go outfits that I love to utilize is the big sweater and knee-high boot look. This classic style can be worn almost anywhere and is ALWAYS a hit!

As the year is beginning and we are all in the midst of winter, I would like to share one big piece of style advice with all of you: Stock your closets with booties! Booties are a timeless shoe that pair amazingly well with almost any outfit. For the cold winter nights out, I would definitely say that they are an essential.

I am so happy that I could share a little bit about myself with all of you! I look forward to experiencing another amazing semester with all you fashionistas!
