Hey ya’ll! My name is Heather Lee Naples. I am an 18-year-old sophomore on a full-ride academic scholarship at West Virginia University, where I have made Dean’s List every semester and am double majoring in Journalism with a minor (possible double-major) in Political Science. I have aspirations to be a political commentator or journalist for a major news network.
At West Virginia University, I am very involved! I’m an active member of Student Government Association, where we all try to make the university a better place for its students. I also plan to join my university’s equestrian team—I’ve been riding horses since I was two years old.
In my spare time (which I wish I had more of), I am a volunteer for Look Good Feel Better, which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping women improve their self-esteem and quality of life while undergoing cancer treatment. I have a family history of breast cancer, so I am a strong advocate for breast cancer awareness, which is my personal platform through pageantry. I utilize pageants as an outlet to speak about my platform—not only spread awareness, but also educate people about the importance of early breast cancer detection.
In addition to loving horses and volunteering, I also have a major love for fashion! Even when I’m riding horses, I like my outfit to be fashionable, yet functional. When I’m not horseback riding, I look forward to Student Government meetings every week so I can put together a new business-casual outfit. My personal style definitely has a wide range— from jeans and riding boots one day to dress pants and a blazer the next day.
Today, I’m wearing lace-trimmed denim shorts from American Eagle Outfitters paired with a flowy tank top and lace cardigan. Also, I’m wearing my favorite pair of Ferrini boots. To bring the look together, I’ve layered a gold necklaces and bangle bracelets. I’m sporting my favorite gold watch, too!
