STYLE GURU BIO: Gracie Grimes

Hello, fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! This is Gracie Grimes and I’m coming to you live from winter break here in the great state of Ohio. I am a freshman marketing major at The Ohio State University with a fashion retail studies minor. However, I am much more interested in current trends in the fashion industry than current trends in the economy. I fell in love with the idea of fashion at a young age, and haven’t stopped falling since. I think kate spade says it best, “Playing dress-up begins at age five and never truly ends.” I like to experiment with different styles and trends, ultimately expressing myself through what I wear. I consider my own style as classic and simple, with a trendy twist. I love to be cute, yet comfy at the same time. I get most of my fashion inspiration from Blake Lively, Kate Middleton and Taylor Swift.

This winter I have become a tad obsessed with the boho chic style. In today’s outfit I play with one of my favorite trends this fall, fringe. My navy tartan, fringed tunic is from the brand Orange Creek. Tunics are such unique pieces, and a great way to hide that food baby at holiday parties!! I paired it with my absolute favorite cuffed H&M jeans (so well fitting and inexpensive). My olive Madewell booties help to accentuate the casual, boho chic vibe. I chose to accessorize with some of my go-to gold jewelry pieces. My Alex & Ani bangles are a staple in my everyday wardrobe. I also layered a long tassel necklace from Forever 21 with a small, simple Bauble Bar necklace. Layering necklaces is an easy and fun way to add a trendy dynamic to your outfit. A little bit of red lipstick brings some glam to the outfit and ties the whole look together!

This classic, yet trendy outfit is wearable for a variety of occasions. Whether you’re out to lunch with the girls, hitting up your favorite stores at the mall or going to a casual holiday party, this ensemble is the perfect for them all.

I am so excited to share my own style and the amazing styles of all the fashionistas and fashionistos with you this spring semester!
