STYLE GURU BIO: Emily Marshall

Hey Fashionistas/os! I’m Emily and I am a senior at the University of Mississippi. I am studying Integrated Marketing Communications and Business Administration but my dream is to do public relations in fashion after graduation. I’m originally from Findlay, Ohio but decided to escape the snow and move down south to Oxford, Mississippi. A few of my favorite things are shopping, traveling, eating Dove chocolates and, of course, cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels. I am so excited to write for CollegeFashionista this semester and cannot wait to show you all some of my favorite outfits!

I believe that being a Fashionista is more than the designer clothes and accessories. Being a Fashionista, to me, means being confident and comfortable in the clothes that express your personality and creativity. Last spring, I had the amazing opportunity to be in Paris during Fashion Week. I was able to see so many different types of people show off their incredible style throughout the city of light. Men and women spent their days strolling through the streets hoping for the chance to get their outfits photographed. My favorite memory was watching hundreds of people gather outside of the Elie Saab show to watch fashion icons like Olivia Palermo and Karlie Kloss exit the building. What made this so special to me was that all of these people were gathered around to celebrate one thing: fashion.

In the pictures above, I am wearing one of my go-to winter outfits. This Forever 21 turtleneck is one of my favorites this season because of its length and color. It is so warm and makes the perfect day to night top. My J.Crew leggings are one of the best purchases I have ever made. The material makes me feel a little more dressed up than the typical cotton leggings and they even zip to make sure they stay up all day! I have bought two more pairs of these comfy pants since my first purchase last winter. Two of my favorite accessories are my Tory Burch boots and Louis Vuitton Neverfull purse. I believe every girl should have a few staple pieces in her wardrobe that will last forever and never go out of style. The Neverfull is perfect for travel, class and just running those every day errands.

Thanks for reading, friends! I can’t wait to share many more articles with you this semester!
