STYLE GURU BIO: Diana Ordonez

January 20th, 2017 at 2:00am

My name is Diana and I am 21 years old. I am currently about to enter my final semester at the Fashion Institute of Technology where I will be graduating with a degree in fashion business management. Within that degree, I will have a specialization in buying and planning as well as product development. My current home is Queens, New York. I grew up here for most of my life, but I have also gotten the chance to live in a few other places around the world, which is how my love for traveling and languages began. I can fluently speak English, Spanish, and Italian which I know will be a great asset in my career.

Currently, I hold the position of being the visual merchandising assistant manager of the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Style Shop, as well as a member of the Merchandising Society. I am also a blogger and have my own lifestyle, travel, and fashion blog which I created two years ago.

My dream jobs range from being the visual merchandiser or creative director for Diane von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, or Bergdorf Goodman to being a buyer or product developer for a fashion brand like Target or Macy’s. I would also be interested in becoming a full time blogger like Chiara Ferragni who is one of my inspirations. Either way, I would love to experience them all in someway, and I am willing to take every opportunity I can get to learn and get the most out of different experiences.

I would say my personal style is mostly girly and a little chic. My favorite item of clothing is dresses because they are so feminine and fun to wear. I love wearing skirts with fun prints or colors, too. I think accessories such as a statement necklace or clutch are great ways to complete an outfit as well. I never go for a simple look; I like to make even a simple jeans and T-shirt outfit pop by either adding a printed blazer or a nice pair of heels. In the winter, I love wearing cozy and bright colored sweaters paired with fun accessories like necklaces and cute boots.

I am so excited to return as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I can’t wait to see Fashionistas/os rocking their styles.
