STYLE GURU BIO: Devynne Diaz

Hello beautiful individuals and fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Devynne and I’m so stoked to be returning as a Style Guru Intern this summer! I’m studying abroad this June in Italy and will also be traveling to Spain for two weeks in July. I cannot wait to share my experiences abroad as well as the chic European fashion sense in my future posts!

For my bio, I wanted to display a typical outfit I would wear during the summer, as well as an outfit perfect for traveling in Europe. My outfit is extremely minimalist, which works out perfectly for me. My closet is filled with mostly black, white and other dark colors, or neutral, monochrome tones. This makes it easy for me to pair most of my clothing with denim, whether it’s a jacket, jeans or shorts.

This outfit is based around my idea of a capsule summer wardrobe. These high-waisted Levi Brand Jeans shorts were thrifted and are extremely on-trend this season, along with boyfriend jeans and cropped-ankle jeans. However, jeans in Arkansas during the summer are never acceptable. It’s way too hot and humid outside to be in thick denim jeans all day long, so shorts are preferred for this outfit.

The white blouse I am wearing is perfect for the summer and for traveling. It’s made of a very light and breezy material and features chiffon paneling across my collarbone and shoulders, which not only makes it more comfortable, but also more unique than a plain blouse.

The details of this outfit are really what make it stand out from just a plain white shirt and blue jean shorts. The platform loafers are by Sol Sana and the patent black leather combined with the zig-zagged white wedge soles of the shoes are eye-catching and elevate the outfit with the added height and sleek materials. The wedge style of the shoe makes them really comfortable, which is a must-have for a traveling Fashionista.

Finally, this vegan leather saddle bag from Free People is my new obsession. Saddle bags are also a major trend for summer accessories and it’s the perfect size for all of my essentials that I’ll need when traveling: passport, wallet, phone, keys, portable charger, Italian phrasebook and sunglasses. The fringe tassel and metallic zipper also make the bag a little more trendy and visually appealing for someone who is like me—obsessed with the basics.
