Hello fellow style lovers! My name is Burgess Foster. I am a junior at the University of Georgia majoring in Consumer Journalism with a specific focus in Public Relations and Fashion Merchandising.
Ever since I was a little girl, people have described my style as always looking “put together.” Granted, back then it was thanks to my mom, but nonetheless, my colossal hairbow always matched precisely with my over the top smocked dress, which fell perfectly with my little patent leather shoes. Today, while my style has evolved into so much more, I still do hold to the idea of always looking pulled together in whatever outfit I am wearing. My style has now matured into a chic, classic look mixed with lots of deep colors, bold accessories and, of course, any shoe with the highest heel you can imagine.
Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, I have grown up around not just southern etiquette but also traditional southern style. Moving to Athens, Georgia for school and living in the eclectic, artistic town it is has opened my eyes to many different types of style. Whether it’s the hipster look at a concert at the Georgia Theatre or the preppy sorority girl sitting next to you in class, Athens has a little taste of everything in one place. I can’t think of a better place to seek out Fashionista/os across campus and find inspirations for my own style than this town!
While fashion is my addicting hobby and reading countless fashion blogs has become somewhat of a morning ritual, I’m in love with fashion because it is so much more than that. Fashion is an art and each one of us has our own canvas. Our individual style gives us a voice. Each day we wake up and have the opportunity to paint a new picture and share with the world what we want to say. The best part about it is that no one can tell you that you are wrong. Your style is completely up to you and will reflect whatever it is you want to express today.
