From treacherous roads, to new beginnings, here’s to conquering and dominating the year of 2015! With that being said, let me introduce myself. My name is Brisa Gomez. I’m a 21-year-old girl living in the hot, wrenching sun of what we call Miami, Florida. I currently attend Miami Dade College, and I’m majoring in Mass Communications and Journalism. Some have nicknamed me “Seabreeze,” and others have nicknamed me “B-rizzle.” You may be wondering why? I think it may have to do with the fact that my name “Brisa” means “breeze” in Spanish. Yay for a fun fact!
I am very happy to continue with CollegeFashionista for a second semester! It’s been a great ride and a great team to be a part of. If there’s one thing I’ve learned and feel I’ve improved on, it’s definitely my writing. I feel very grateful to have found a place where I can share my love for fashion and get to work on my craft. The world of fashion has been like a wonderland where I feel no need to escape from. Through fashion, I’ve been able to find peace and understanding. I choose what to wear, and I wear what I want. It’s as simple as that.
Among other things, I enjoy cheese fries way too much (I might have an addiction), Taylor Swift’s album has been on constant repeat, and I’m a feminist and believe in human equality for all. Not only do I hope to work within the fashion industry one day, but I hope to one day be a part of a community and organization that helps those who may be struggling, been bullied or have been discriminated against for who they are. No one should have to suffer.
I hope to work in a creative environment where it doesn’t feel like work but an adventure instead. I want to surround myself with people who have a love for creativity, innovation and want the best for everyone.
