STYLE GURU BIO: Brianna Bowman

Hello Fashionista/os! My name is Brianna Bowman. I am the one and only Style Guru at California University of Pennsylvania this semester, and I am so excited to get started! I am a junior majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing and a love for clothes.

I’m from a suburb outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and being so close to the city of bridges gives me a taste of all the culture that I love. My love for fashion and beauty products grew after years and years of reading Seventeen Magazine, and I’ve only grown to love it more.

I have a love/hate relationship with winter: I love the fashions and hate the cold. I have a slight addiction to boots, and my collection continues to grow. I consider my statement piece to be my short hair, so I continue to cut it shorter and shorter. I’ve always had a love for trends and buying the latest styles and fashions, and I like to say my biggest weakness is the mall because that’s one thing I can never say no to. My favorite color to wear, and basically only color I wear, is black because they say black goes with everything. I would consider my style to be trendy with an edgy feel, and you can see that with my bold statement pieces and dark colors.

Television is my guilty pleasure. If you don’t see me on campus, I’m probably held up in my room binge watching Netflix or catching up on my favorite shows. I can’t wait to start this internship and combine my love for fashion with my new interest in photography. I aspire to work in the fast-paced fashion industry of New York City one day, and being a Style Guru only gets me one step closer to my dream!

Here’s the lowdown on my outfit: I knew I needed to include my favorite piece from my wardrobe, the leather jacket. I included some color by wearing this neon blouse, and the silver chain adds a little bit of edge to the outfit. I wear my Alex and Ani bracelets every day and stacked them with a watch to add to the collection. Denim is always a good go-to because you can dress it up or down, and I always go with a dark wash. Lastly, I paired this outfit with basic combat boots because they’re my favorite shoe and look good with almost everything.

They say your first impression should be your best impression, so here’s to putting my best, fashionable foot forward and a to RAD semester!
