STYLE GURU BIO: Bitsy Skerry

Hello, fellow fashion lovers!

My name is Bitsy Skerry and I am a Marketing Communications major at Emerson College who just finished her freshman year. Going to school in Boston was a wonderful experience. Being from a small New Hampshire town, I loved my new city life. I saw shows at the Boston Opera House, explored the Boston Common and Boston Public Garden, had dinner in the historic North End and, of course, went shopping on Newbury Street. It’s hard to believe I am going into my sophomore year. Time really does fly when you’re having fun!

I’m an avid follower of all things fashion. I love scrolling through style blogs, reading Lucky Magazine and Vogue and watching shows like What NOT to Wear, Project Runway and Fashion Police. I am also obsessed with The Devil Wears Prada—Miranda Priestly has my dream job. I have my own blog, Bits of Style, which is my personal style sanctuary. I would describe my style as classic with a modern and trendy twist. I have also been in to vintage pieces lately, as you can tell by the outfit I am wearing here. I paired an H&M peasant blouse with high waisted shorts from PacSun and classic Ked’s sneakers. I accessorized with Ray-Ban ‘Clubmasters,’ Alex and Ani bracelets, my Michael Kors watch and a backpack from Brandy Melville. I basically shop anywhere from Topshop to the thrift shop.

Putting an outfit together is truly an art form. I equate getting dressed each day to painting a picture. It takes a little bit of time and the perfect mix of colors, patterns and accessories to create a one-of-a-kind look. The creativity of fashion is what I love most. Each day is an opportunity to wear something new, which I find so exciting.

I am excited to begin my Style Guru journey and look forward to sharing my posts with this stylish community. I hope you enjoy them.
